PE

Our Intent

"A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect."

The National Curriculum - 2014

Through our PE provision, we aim to give all pupils an opportunity to try new sports, be physically active and engage with their peers in a way which supports their health and fitness. PE lessons are taught by the class teacher, specialist teachers or by our outside provider, Astrella. Over the course of the year, pupils have the opportunity to engage with a range of indoor and outdoor physical activities with the aim of finding something that they enjoy and feel passionate about.

As a school, we regularly attend local sporting festivals and events where as many pupils as possible are able to represent Broad Chalke and experience competitive sport. We know that these experiences help to create a lifelong love of sport and hold happy memories for many of our pupils.

Take a look at the sporting activities which we're having a go at in our PE lessons this year below.
